Well known for its snow-capped mountain and premier ski conditions, South Georgian Bay has a lot more to offer than meets the eye. In addition to a wide variety of summer and winter activities, South Georgian Bay also has a thriving arts and entertainment scene that can be enjoyed all year round.

If you're looking for entertainment, you'll find plenty of live performances in restaurants and clubs as well as events and festivals in Blue Mountain Village and the surrounding area. During the day or evening you can walk along the cobblestone pathways in the Village and enjoy buskers, concerts and cultural events and activities for the whole family.

The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts (BMFA) is dedicated to supporting the development of the Arts in South Georgian Bay and the whole Georgian Triangle. Its Arts Centre in Historical Downtown South Georgian Bay hosts exhibits of traditional and contemporary artwork, community talks, musical performances, poetry readings, workshops and more. They also present South Georgian Bay's Arts and Music Festival annually where exhibitors of all kinds present their work and perform for audiences.

In addition to the BMFA Arts Centre, there are a number of other art galleries located in Collingwood such as Level Gallery, Lost Dog Studio, Georgian Frame Gallery, Willowood Gallery and Bright's Gallery. Meaford Hall Arts and Cultural Centre also has gallery exhibits as well as live theatre productions, musical performances and entertainment in a beautifully restored century old landmark building. Clarksburg, just south of Thornbury, is also known as ‘Artsburg’ because of the numerous art galleries in the downtown.

Then of course there's the Elvis Festival http://www.collingwoodelvisfestival.com/ which Collingwood has become famous for hosting every summer. Elvis tribute artists from all over come to perform music made famous by the King.  Collingwood has also become host for the annual Wakestock, held in the Collingwood Harbour in August.  Top wakeboarders gather from all over the world to compete.  There are many viewing areas to drive or walk to.  So grab a lawnchair check it out. http://www.wakestock.com/.  Collingwood is also the home of The Historic Gayety Theatre, presenting a variety of performances each season. http://gayetytheatre.com
